Our 5 teams in MayanPalace strategy consist of:

Team 1 “Legislation and Sustainability Policies” – The team is responsible for the establishment of our vision, mission, values, politics, philosophy, standards and safety systems that ultimately guide the hotel’s sustainable developments.

Team 2 “Energy and Waste” – The team is made up of areas that include: housekeeping, cleaning, gardening, maintenance and consumer centers. In sum, those responsible for the design, initiative, and implementation of protection, environmental improvement and energy / water conservation.

Team 3 “Ecosystem, Air, Noise, and Residuals” – The team is in charge for the design, proposal and, registration of everything related to the coordination of ecosystem, air, noise, and residual waste management.

Team 4 “Culture and Community Relations” – This team is responsible for the design, proposal, and communication with guests, hosts, suppliers, and the general community regarding implementation of Green Globe programs.

Team 5 “Golf Course” – This team applies Green Globe’s principles and standards to the golf course.

With sandals on and your sunglasses at hand, select an activity at MayanPalace that you like the most. If you want to learn to play golf and better still, do so with your kids, sign-up for no-cost classes that are offered from 9 a.m. in the 54-par, 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Make a reservation, pay for the practice basket, (clubs and balls) and you’ll be on the fairway practicing your first swings. And talking of kids, MayanPalace offers a complete program of activities through its Kids Club, where diverse outdoor activities are available from 9 a.m. until sunset. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 carry out an array of pastimes, making paper flowers, bracelets, and necklaces, picture frames and cards, as well as participating in drawing competitions, stilt races and fights with water-filled balloons. They hunt treasure, bowl and, after the sun goes down (if not already exhausted) they can sit back and enjoy animated films shown daily. The activities are free of charge; if you want to spend the day away from the resort and leave your child at the Kids Club, you can request the services of a baby sitter at extra charge.

For adults in MayanPalace Resorts, the options are equally diverse, so time will be insufficient to do everything. If you’re a fan of water sports you can play water polo or volleyball, participate in water aerobics, rent snorkel equipment or paddle a kayak though crystal-clear Caribbean waters. For athletes the choice of activities is equally diverse. The golf course at MayanPalace is exceptional, with its white-sand bunkers, lakes surrounded by natural rocks and intense green fairways. The tennis courts, open from 7 a.m. till 8 p.m., allow you to take individual or group classes, participate in doubles, singles and mixed tournaments or send your children to tennis classes.

If you wish to experience the resort in a less conventional was, sign up for the bicycle rides that are held twice a day free of charge. Guided by a staff member, you can visit pool where crocodiles are kept, supervised by the resort’s own biologist, as well as tour other areas of the resort.

If you are inclined to quiet contemplation, at MayanPalace you’ll also find activities that help maintain a balance between body and spirit. Brio, the resort’s spa, is open daily from 6:30 a.m. till 9 p.m. Located next to the beach, it’s a relaxing space offering massage, body and facial treatments and delicious wraps. If you want to complement the experience you can have a snack at the Health Bar located on the spa’s first floor, take yoga or pilates classes, which are offered at an extra charge in the gymnasium at MayanPalace, or relax with the murmur of waves at meditation sessions held in a palapa on the beach. And if total relaxation is your favorite activity, head for the pool area, choose a chaise lounge and enjoy more than 300-meters of interconnected pools.

At night activities continue. There’s black jack, karaoke, a casino and theme shows. Don’t miss Mexican Night, which features special dishes from our kitchen as well as dances and traditions from all over the country. And check out the movies shown at the beach; from the comfort of a lounge chair, you can enjoy box office smashes and classic movies. MayanPalace offers a different option for watching cinema in paradise.

It isn’t unusual to find at any given time two or three guests seeking information in the Concierge are of MayanPalace. They’re usually seeking noteworthy places to visit, or a way to safeguard their children while they enjoy a romantic evening. We make sure that each guest receives a positive, efficient, and courteous response.

The Concierge’s job is to offer information and advice regarding activities both inside and outside the resort so that our guests can focus on their main goal: enjoying their vacation. Their task is to assist you with every detail – no matter how complex – from following through on lost luggage to helping arrange travel plans. If you’re accompanied by a handicapped person or someone of limited capabilities, for example, they can help to facilitate your stay at MayanPalace.

Whether you need an interpreter or simple advice regarding paperwork, MayanPalace is committed to attending all your needs. The Concierge is ready, in fact, to help with any unforeseen events, such as a mariachi band to regale a companion at lunch or dinner, or perhaps a couple of witnesses if your guests decide to tie the knot before a judge.
